Internet killed the record shop..? Another one bites the dust. Closing down after nearly 20 years, the legendary Fat Beats store is no more. I was lucky enough to go and buy vinyl back in the day from the New York and Amsterdam stores so I feel blessed. To celebrate the history and contribution the NYC store made to Hip Hop culture, what I guess could be called a wake was held..check out the DJ sets from hiphop heavyweights Just Blaze, DJ Premier, A-Trak & Cypha Sounds (who made me laugh cos I brought my copy of Da Enemy from there on my first visit). RIP Fat Beats.
